HB 3671 sponsored by Meyer would expedite the process of issuing state permits to oil refineries. This legislation would help in expanding oil-refining capacity. Meyer’s District Benefits from IDOT’s Highway Improvement Program
  (4/20/2007) Under a proposed six year Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) highway improvement plan, the 48th House district would benefit with over $57 million in new highway projects. The funding for these projects would be a combination of federal, state, and in some cases, local transportation monies. Funding would be used for maintaining and expanding existing roadways. More

General Assembly Scholarships Applications Now Available
  (1/16/2007) Rep. Jim Meyer's office is accepting applications for the 2007-2008 General Assembly Scholarship. The application process is open to any resident of the 48th Legislative District who whill be attending a four-year Illinois public university during the 2007-2008 academic year. The deadline for applications and accompanying documents is May 11, 2007. Rep. Meyer's scholarship committee will make its selections over the summer and all applicants will be notified of the committee's decision by mail. Applications can be downloaded from the scholarship page, or to request an application by mail or email, please contact the district office.
